Hand to Earth Ceramics: Luminis

Deanna, the artist behind Hand to Earth Ceramics, recently took the leap to being a full-time potter and I am thrilled for her! She has been testing glazes, creating new items and trying her hand at new art pieces. One of her new creations is featured above, these adorable luminaries called luminis.

A tealight candle fits perfectly inside and casts the most magical illuminations.

I picked up a whimsical moon moth and starry sky full moon lumini.

These are simply magical.

I think if Deanna ever decided to make a wax tart warmer I would drift off to heaven.

Right now I am happy just gazing at these ladies.

Do you use tealights? Any favorite indie tealight candle vendors? Luminary makers?

  1. These are adorable!! I love the detail on the moon that looks like a flower.

For most of Monday I was looking forward to mine arriving, until the middle of the afternoon when I remembered there was no mail delivery, gah. But it's here now and I am pleased with it too. Some beeswax tea lights arrived later in the week. I am not sure what I will do long term for tea lights. Since I am on a budget maybe I should try making my own, right now I don't need anything fancy.

    1. Aren't they?! I was hoping to be able to get one and was stoked to get two. I appreciate the level of detail that Deanna puts into these pieces.

Glad you like yours too! I love that yours has the designs cut out to reflect the light. I hope I can one day get one like that too. I love your idea of making your own beeswax tealights. That would be cool. I am ashamed at the amount of wax I have thrown out from the testing days. I just couldn't imagine moving with 20 pounds of raw wax. Maybe once I move and settle in I could tinker with making tealights for myself.

  2. Stunning! I wish that I could have tried to get one, but I was flying home from San Francisco when she had her update. I'm so glad you got these beauties!

    1. I was thinking of you and wondering if you were planning on trying to collect anything. Happily she will be making these as her full time job now so I am thinking that will mean more restocks. I was surprised to see how big this one was! So many wonderful things!! I think a lumini would be perfect in your new home.
