Nocturne Alchemy Giveaway!

Good Morning!

Today I would like to giveaway a 5 ml Nocturne Alchemy perfume of your choice from their website to two readers. In celebration of my blog turning five years old, I knew I wanted to include Nocturne Alchemy. They create some really stunning scents that personally work on my skin really well.

To enter, please comment below with the scent you would choose if you won and what you recommend watching on Netflix or Amazon Prime. I just finished Black Mirror and am halfway through The Society.

Two winners will be randomly drawn on May 31st. More giveaways to come from some of my other favorite brands.

  1. Nope, not anonymous - Sandra here. :) Congratulations on five years! And such a lovely giveaway, too, you're always so generous with your favourite things. Hey, you're like Oprah! I think - I've actually never seen a single episode of the big O, can you believe it? But I really just came here to ask how you felt about Black Mirror? What was your favourite episode? I can only watch, like, one a month, because they haunt me afterwards - days later I'll still be mulling over something, so I don't tend to want to watch them back-to-back-to-back to...all the same, I freaking LOVED Black Christmas, the one with Jon Hamm - I think it was the most horrifying of any of them!

    1. Hello, Sandra!! Sorry Blogger is being a Pistol Pete. Thank you for commenting and not giving up and thank you for the well wishes! I think I have watched a few episodes but talk shows in general were just not my thing. They seemed silly to me. Black Mirror was definitely a mind game. Let me tell you just how it got to me.... I now have duct tape over the camera lens of my laptop when I didn't before I watched the show. And I feel totally validated that I never have my location services on. I loved/hated the bee episode. Could totally see that happen. Plus many of them had a definite Ray Bradbury tone to them which I thoroughly enjoyed. The walls of TV screens, the constant need for people to be hooked to their screens, stimulated. I also loved/hated the Number episode where people were rated and the number dictated your credit or power. Could see that happening. I would totally go off the grid at that point. Take my perfume, mugs and seeds and family and head into the bush. Black Christmas was amazingly haunting. That type of "cookie" interrogation is freaky.

  2. Incorporeal I think. Although there's St. Germaine, Michael, London, Om Na something ha, I forget it was so fun browsing the descriptions. Oh there was one with heliotrope which is divine. Hard to choose! As for Netflix, Winter's Bone is on atm and I love that movie (mountain life based drama). Santa Clarita Diet is a fun/dark comedic series. An Unfinished Life is another movie I like. Waiting on Frontier to release another season!

    1. Whoa. I just looked up Incorporeal and it sounds incredibly beautiful. That gardenia and tuberose and musk with vanilla and pepper. Wow. I will look into Winter's Bone! The mountain fascinate me. I just saw Santa Clarita Diet has Drew Berrymore in it and she is my fav. I will look into these for sure. Thanks! Good luck!

  4. Congrats on 5 years! I thoroughly enjoy your posts and base a lot of my narrowed down choices of oils on your lovely descriptions. I would love to try Cherries in the Snow...have had my eyes on it for awhile. On Netflix, I've enjoyed IZombie...it's on it's last season on the CW but you can watch all the previous seasons there. Also I loved Santa Clarita Diet and am sad that it was canceled. Ozark is also amazing as well as Penny Dreadful.

    1. Thank you, Kristin! I hear Cherries in the Snow is a NAVA fan favorite! You are the second to recommend Santa Clarita, definitely watching it! I loved Penny Dreadful too. It was so moody and creepy. Ozark is one I keep stopping at but eventually move on. Next time I will watch it. <3

  5. I will admit, I had no idea where to start with picking a fragrance! lol. After much deliberation, I settled on the scent Dragon Selene. It sounds so lovely. As far as Netflix goes, I've been binge watching Riverdale! It's not a show I thought I'd be into, but here I am starting season 3. lololol.

    1. Funny! Dragon Selene is one I have been eyeing up for ages!!! I swore I would use up some of my other Dragon's Blood scents before I buy it though. I tend to hoard my perfumes and now I just need to wear them. But I LOVE Dragon's Blood. Riverdale!! Yes! I grew up reading the Archie comics and then to add Molly Ringwald and Luke Perry and other 90's actors... it totally sucked me in. My daughter and I watch it. (She reads the comics now too). We are only two episodes into Season 3. It did get kinda weird, reminds me a lot of Sabrina now- which I guess is fitting since it is an Archie spin-off too.

  6. Congratulations on 5 years! I would probably choose something from the Egyptian sweets, coffee & tea section. On amazon I’m obsessed with the marvelous mrs maisel. On Netflix I’m all about the British, Luther, Marcella, Broadchurch, Last tango in Halifax (so good) Happy Valley, Midsomer Murders (love!) and the Irish show Derry Girls (lily and I binge watched the first season) I also love Vera but I had to get that from the library.

    1. Thanks, Valerie!! xoxo You and I are very similar in our love of British TV. I LOVE Broadchurch. I will have to check out Misomer Murders. I keep drifting towards it and then opting for something else. I loved Poldark and Ripper Street. I even like watching Big Dreams, Small Spaces (British gardening at its best) and the Great British Bake Off. Such great shows. <3 I need to watch Sherlock again too. Derry Girls sounds awesome. Are you going to watch the Downton Abbey movie when it comes out??

    2. Midsomer Murders is so fun and relaxing and makes you wish you lived in England! I was thinking of starting Poldark and will add Ripper Street to my list. I need to finish Downton Abbey and will of course see the movie. Love Sherlock! Derry Girls is a bit spicy sometimes but I loved it, I probably shouldn’t have let Lily watch it. 😬

  7. Congratulations on your blog anniversary! 5 years of blogging is an accomplishment. I hope you keep finding something that inspires you to write.

As to watching recommendations, I like crime series, especially British, so I second Midsomer Murders (both services have them but Netflix has more seasons), Endeavor (Prime), Foyle’s War (Acorn on Prime).

    1. Thank you, Undina!! It has been a journey for sure! I do find myself drifting about as I write from one topic to another but hopefully my readers won't mind. The theme of scent is certainly always there. Fragrance passion is one that is hard to shake.

I will be watching Midsomer Murders for sure now! You are the second one to recommend it and I love British shows. Jotting the other two down for future viewing as well! Hope you and Rusty are doing well. <3

    Bloodstone Dark!!
I like watching old school Spongebob on Amazon. My husband and I enjoyed The Man in the High Castle series.
Netflix, I'm almost through Arrested Development. Comedians in cars, getting coffee series is fun and funny. Pee Wee's Playhouse is an old fave. I like watching music documentaries on either platform.

    1. Thanks! Mmmmmm! I love Bloodstone Dark. It is a yummy one.

Adam and I used to watch SpongeBob all the time when we first started living together. Many fond memories. We used to quote it all the time. I will check out The Man in the High Castle. Sounds interesting. Arrested Development is hilarious! I tried to get the girls to watch PeeWee's Playhouse with me and I think I scarred them. What a quirky show that was!!! I think it explains a lot for how I turned out. Jambi and his "meka leka hi meka hiney ho." Dying.

    2. I was very surprised from early on my littles loved watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, I thought for sure it wouldn't take. lol I can totally see why it doesn't appeal to some, but gosh, I've always loved it.
I have not shown them Pee Wee's Big Adventure yet, on account of Large Marge. Hahaha

    3. Large Marge is definitely the scariest thing I have ever seen. I think it got me primed for my deep love of Beetlejuice.

  9. Happy Anniversary! Your blog is such an inspiration.

I usually favor fantasy type stuff and things with marvelous period costumes. But I finally watched Fleabag on Amazon. It is sad story because the lead is hot mess, but she is a wonderful actress and the character is so complex. Story telling aspect is good. It is a quirky show and I found myself laughing out loud often.

I can't choose! If I win - you pick! Thank you for the giveaway!

I love fantasy shows too. I did try to get into Merlin but it didn't really catch me. But some reason Dinotopia did??? Yikes. I am a mess. Fleabag sounds like something I need to watch. Laughing out loud is the best.

    1. I love that perfume. It is so lovely. I will look into Chef's Table. I haven't watched a good food show in a while. I started The Crown but fell off... totally forgot about that. Maybe it is time to finish it. I stopped right when her father died while they were out on safari.

Thanks for the email!! Blogger is a pistol.
