Olfactif Artisan Perfume Subscription: April + Giveaway

April's Olfactif box comes with a "Spring Day" theme: nature in bloom, dappled sunshine and green hues. April is also Olfactif's birthday month and they are offering $18 off any full sized bottle and a discount on samples as well. Now is a great time to be a member.

White Pepper Mandarin by Note Fragrances- Notes include: White grapefruit, mandarin, rosemary, white pepper, clary sage, lemon verbena, white cedarwood, frankincense.
A lovely and calming citrus and herb infused fragrance. Notes Fragrances believes this scent will help to energize, revive, and rejuvenate the wearer. I can see that, but in a more meditative approach. The aromatic herbs and tangy grapefruit leap off the wrist and sweeten with mandarin peel. White cedarwood is ushered in with a softly floral white pepper and sage. This fragrance ultimately feels clean and refreshing without being anemic or blanched. I love it. $74 for the full bottle.

Cher Wood by Molinard- Notes include: Fruit-floral accords, cedar, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, agarwood, amber, vanilla.
Cher Wood could just as easily be Sherwood. This scent is all about the enchanting forest. Soft focus cedars and sandalwood are accompanied by dried patchouli and vanilla amber. This smells like a luxurious and well crafted woody fragrance. The fruit-floral accords are not heavy handed and are in fact more of a glimmer of twinkling fairy lights that can barely be detected with the mundane eye. Gorgeous. $185 for a full bottle.

Sleeping With Ghosts by Mark Buxton- Notes include: Tagete, quince, peony, leather, vetiver, vanilla.
Tagete was one I had to look up. I expected some type of ultra exotic and esoteric ingredient that maybe grew in the far corners of the rain forest or even perhaps was an obscure seed that had to pass through an endangered animal's digestive tract but imagine my surprise when a marigold popped up. This scent, despite the evocative name and intriguing notes, is really all about the flowers and vanilla suede. The quince leans more rose than sour fruit but the peony keeps the leather from becoming buttery or rawhide. That see-saw balance of herbal marigold with sweet peony and vanilla leather never lets the fragrance settle into monotony. And I love a fragrance that avoids monotony. $195 for a full bottle.

I loved this box! And I want to share the love with you too.

I requested two boxes this month so that I could share my love of Olfactif with you guys. I am giving away one of April's boxes (brand new of course!) to anyone who "likes" The Redolent Mermaid's Facebook page (link in the sidebar) and leaves a comment under the April Olfactif box about which of these beauties they are most interested in wearing. A winner will be drawn and announced April 30th.

    1. Hello Ellisa! I hope you have been well. I usually drain them in a few days but ones I am very in love with I keep and hoard in the hopes I can get a full bottle of: Black Pepper & Sandalwood, Intense Cafe, Memoir Woman... And use them very sparingly.

  4. All is well in my neck of the woods. Things are winding down here. I only have 5 more weeks of school left. ( preschool teacher) I took a bath with the last tub tea you sent me, it was divine!!! Take care, Ellisa
