Gameday Perfume

I was given this perfume for free from Sidney Stanger at Gameday Perfume. My review is honest as always.

Gameday Perfume celebrates the bright tones of excitement and energy that accompanies a quintessential college football game day. Specifically one at Florida State University. Now, I am the last person in a crowd to shout "Go 'Noles!" but I do understand exactly why Sidney would use college game day as a muse. As a Florida Gator twice over, game days in Florida hold much magic. The sun sparking off tailgates, citrus laden drinks from Arnold Palmers to Coronas, waves of team colors, the din of the stadium and sticky shoes and hands from who knows what substances on the seats and sidewalks. What a great recipe to inspire a perfume. So that is what she did in 2012. She hired a chemistry company to create the perfume using specific notes that she wanted, found a vintage feel bottle that fit her aesthetic and created a wonderfully designed website to launch the fragrance from.

The perfume is undeniably fun to apply. My girls come and swipe it more than I probably am even aware of, I just hear them squeezing the ball and giggling in raptures of bliss. The scent is lovely and fresh like a woodsy citrus cologne. It opens with citrus zest that starts as bergamot, green with basil,  then sweetens into orange pulp. Quickly cedarwood and musk waft in as basenotes and remain for the duration. I can see myself wearing this all the year round and at a price point of  $35.99 for 2.5 ounces, it would be great for gifting as well. Especially for college age students, given the fresh and youthful nature of the scent.

The sillage is a medium and the longevity is about 4 hours.

Sidney is debuting a University of Florida scent in the future. Of course, I cannot wait to try that one. And gift it to a few certain Gator girls in my life. What do you think? College football perfume? NFL football perfume? Would you want to wear a special something while cheering on your team? I just hope the UF one doesn't smell like The Swamp. ;-)

  1. I usually don't comment on the perfume posts but I have to wonder, if your Gators perfume would smell like a swamp, what would a Vikings perfume be? Sweat and grime and sea salt? lol

    1. I would LOVE the Vikings to smell like Arcanas Filthy Viking, all fresh and minty with juniper but a musky sea spray undertone. Mmmmm! The Swamp should have ivy, hops, honeysuckle, and patchouli. It would be fun to come up with fragrances for each team. Miami Hurricanes would be coconut, sea salt, plumeria and driftwood. The Browns would be..... Well. I better be nice. Adam would not be happy.

    2. Right after I posted my comment, I though 'Oh, being Minnesota, it should have mint for snow!' So it's funny you mention that. The Filthy Viking scent sounds interesting. Valhalla Soap has interesting Vikings scents too.
