Then thanks for thy present! none sweeter or better
E'er smoked from an oven or circled a platter!
Fairer hands never wrought at a pastry more fine,
Brighter eyes never watched o'er its baking, than thine!
And the prayer, which my mouth is too full to express,
Swells my heart that thy shadow may never be less,
That the days of thy lot may be lengthened below,
And the fame of thy worth like a pumpkin-vine grow,
And thy life be as sweet, and its last sunset sky
Golden-tinted and fair as thy own Pumpkin Pie!
- John Greenleaf Whittier
excerpt from The Pumpkin
Now that I have literally waxed poetic about pumpkins and your eyes have beheld the fulsome pumpkin Beezy order I have in possession, let us commence with the details.
Pumpkin Milkshake- A little plastic smelling to my nose but mostly vanilla when I get beyond that. It might be nice once melted, so with holding firm judgement.
Pumpkin Caramel Swirl- A vibrant pumpkin and soft spice scent that suggests at a citrusy top note. Candy sweet caramel included.
Pumpkin Gingerbread- Deeply spiced pumpkin gingerbread with salted butter pats nestled in the middle of each slice.
Gingerbread Applesauce- Gingerbread baked in smoky stone hearth with a schmear of homemade apple butter.
Amish Quilt- The queen mother of spice. Cinnamon that licks burning flames around the edges of your nostrils. Not dry or dusty at all but rich with cinnamon oil and other cupboard spices.
Apple Clove Butter- I think you guys know how I feel about this one. If not.... it is LOVE.
Caramel Apple Butter- In fact, my deep love of Apple Clove Butter (thanks to Lauren at LoloLovesScents) I wanted to try this one out too. It is mostly a toffee caramel apple. Not a watery Macintosh apple necessarily, but a fat red apple for sure.
Free Sample:
Cinnamon French Toast- Heavily spiced bakery (YUM) that reminds me of Rosegirls Streuselkuchen and Dunk My Donuts. Super duper good.
The deets: I ordered these July 1st and they just arrived last week. Long TAT for sure. Amish Quilt and Pumpkin Gingerbread were on clearance for $1.35 and the rest were $1.85 each. Shipping was $6.80 and totally reasonable. Beezy throws like a heavy weight boxer and does wax really well. My standouts from this order are: Apple Clove Butter, Amish Quilt, Cinnamon French Toast and Pumpkin Caramel Swirl.
Did you Beezy recently? Whatcha get?
Everything looks great! I believe I would go for all of them except Amish Quilt.. That one sounds like it would be WAY too much cinnamon for me. Your description scared me away on that particular scent. ha-ha. I have always wondered why their TAT was so long. Beats me.
ReplyDeleteLol!! It is a spicy gal, that Amish Quilt! I guess John takes his time going through them. I think he has a real full time job and does wax on the side. Worth the wait as long as you don't need them by a certain time.
DeleteGreat order! I just placed an RTS order last week and got CNS email today, yay! None of the ones you got were available, but I picked up about a dozen scents. I can't remember them all, but one that stands out to me is Danish Butter Cookies which I've had and loved in the past. Very excited to receive them!
ReplyDeleteExcited for you too!! Looking forward to seeing your haul!
DeleteThese all sound yummy, except Apple Clove Butter didn't do much for me the way it does for you and Lauren (and Sunnee?). I am kinda wanting to nibble the candy corn in your pictures though......
ReplyDelete~Deb
You aren't the only one. Amanda didn't care for it either. I guess like any scent it all depends on the nose. I bought some to make rice crispy treats with but since you sent me some I have been eating them left and right. I forgot how much I love those pumpkin shaped ones. Thank you!
DeleteBeautiful order! And just in time for some fall melting!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I tried to behave :-) And you are right! Just in time for October and November pumpkin palooza!
DeleteIt's meeee :) I had to pop in to read up on your Beezy order!
ReplyDeleteI ordered from both the pre-order and RTS. Stocked up on some old favorites; Coffee Cake & Spice, Wildberry Mousse Zucchini, Caramel Apple Butter and Blueberry Cobbler.. and tried a couple new to me scents.. Peppermint Swizzle Stick (yum on cold) and Pumpkin Milkshake (like you, I'm getting mostly vanilla).
Good to read the Cinnamon French Toast recommendation! Is it me or do you also pick up an orange note in Beezy's Amish Quilt? Personally, I prefer Carol's version which is straight up spice to my nose.
Lynda! <3 I love seeing your beautiful mountain photo.
DeleteExcellent!! I considered grabbing a couple of things from the RTS but decided to hold out. Glad you like Caramel Apple Butter, that means I probably will too. Peppermint Swizzle Sticks sounds perfect. I will look out for that next opening. Hopefully he will have it.
I do pick up some citrus brightness in his Amish Quilt! And it is too funny because I just melted Carol's Amish Quilt last week and was thinking how awesome it was, in fact, so awesome I ordered another bag this past opening. Hers has a nice sweetness to it. Glad you stopped by. Think of you often, friend!
