Fall Fun Series: Fall Decor Home Tour

Before I take you on a cheerful, if rushed tour of my fall home decor... here are a few of the wax tarts I have been melting since we last saw my stash:

Dessa's Fall in the Country: pure spicy goodness, repurchase.
Rosegirl's Country Blessings: spice, evergreen, fruits, probably not.
Lasting Scent Candles Lemon Ginger Snap: creamy lemon cookies with a touch of richness form the ginger, repurchase.

CFTKR Caramel Spice: gooey spice, repurchase.
CFTKR Apple Pizzelle: festive and bright apples, slight bakery, repurchase.

Dessa's This Old Cabin: fruity, caramel, small spice, probably not (by the way, this a dupe of CFTKR's Rustic Lodge if you like that one).
Just a quick and dirty recap. Probably not does not mean they were duds. They both have good throw and such, I just prefer other scents over them.

The fall goodies have come out of the sweltering attic to usher in the autumn season. I have had my decorations up for about a week or so now, but I am LATE to the Fall Fun Series date!! Gah! I meant to post these Friday but I have been absolutely slammed at work (in a good way!) and have devoted my time at home to: pj's, making dinner, taking a bath, reading the girls a story, Stranger Things then bed. Pronto.

But without further delay... here is my fall home decor tour.

The doors to the office where Adam works and I sew and such. These were the old Walmart wreaths that hung on the door last year, but I am out to buy new ones this year. The red glitter garland is from the Dollar Tree ages ago.

Kitchen china cabinet decor. Super dusty. Just ignore that.

The ceramic pumpkin was an 80% off Hobby Lobby find years ago, I added the "J" and the glitter owl and pumpkin are Target dollar bin and Dollar Tree treasures.

Dollar Tree pumpkin I spruced up with extra doo-hickies and a birdy.

Another Dollar Tree pumpkin arrangement and crow. I loved the crows. I wish they had them this year. I bought 4 or 5 but my girls always sneak one off to their rooms when they fly down from the attic.

Dollar Tree leaves that I hang on my starfish garland and a "Bee Thankful" banner that I made forever ago.

Pottery Barn mercury lanterns with Dollar Tree leaves strewn about. Are you tired of me saying "Dollar Tree" yet?!

The mason jar pumpkins were made a couple years ago at our annual Five Sisters Crafternoon. We also made rustic pumpkin signs, which I hung up in the bathroom this year. We have our third one scheduled for October.

This little light up guy was the special thing I purchased at Sol's in Amish Country this summer. It lights up with one of those bright orange flickering candle bulbs. I loved it. It was under $20. So it flew home with me from Cleveland.

The corner of lights. I think I may be half moth.

Dollar Tree crow and gifted pumpkins <3

Glass pumpkins from Target post-fall last year or the year before.

This is the blank wall where I hope to set up my birchwood bookcase, if it ever gets finished. So many unfinished projects: bookcase, painting the bedroom and shelves in Savanna's room. Let's not even start on the quilts and canvases. Le sigh. Anyway, check out the super cool fall sign my sister, Lindsey, painted.

She is so talented!!

I neglected to show my front door area because I do not have my wreaths or mums yet. I will post those later in the series when I go get them. Sunnee mentioned Amazon for her wreaths. That got me all like "hmmmmmm." Are you all decorated and ready for fall? What is your favorite decoration? Check out the amazing fall decor posts on my side bar in the Fall Fun Series blog roll on the desktop version of my blog.

Next up on the Fall Fun Series... apples!

  1. Oh Julie, how dare you be 12 hours late on the fall tour? You know I'm kidding! Family life is way more important and I'll just let everyone know here I won't be posting on the scheduled times often. Now onto the loveliness; this tour was worth the wait! Rather than going on about my favorite parts (the garlands, no, the corner of lights) let me say I admire the seamless way you brought fall touches into your coastal decor. It's really just right and fitting for your Mermaid ways☺

    1. LOL! I am kinda crazy about being on a routine and this week totally shot that out of the picture for me Jessica. I do tend to be a little rough on myself sometimes. But thank you for letting me off the hook. <3 Thank you for the sweet words! I try toss an item before adding one. Right now I have two Rubbermaid containers to store my stuff in and that is plenty.

Glad my mermaid style shows through <3 Perk of living in Florida is that there are plenty of nautical things to find.

    1. Thanks! I thought so too! But she would be embarrassed to know I featured her. Though she is super creative and has great taste.

  3. LOVE LOVE LOVE! The corner of lights is, the glass pumpkins, the garlands .. I just love it all. I think the wreaths on the office door look great and your entrance area immediately invites us in with great autumn cheer. You're entire tour was inviting and festive.
You have a beautiful home Julie and I plan on visiting you in it one day!
Good luck on those front door wreaths, I know you'll choose something great.
...that sign Lindsey made, that's Etsy material. I would buy that! Talented, indeed!

    1. Thanks sweet friend!! I hope you do! So many great places to eat and see in Orlando and Tampa. A double date would be fun. :-) I am thinking of checking out Hobby Lobby and Michael's and Pier 1 soon. Maybe if I wait long enough they will be on sale.

Right?! She used to make these super cute wood slice painted magnets for the fridge and sell them on Etsy. She seriously could make and sell anything.

  4. Beautiful! I have turquoise walls in our bedroom and then other turquoise touches throughout the house, and I'm always amazed at how great orange looks with it. The lit pumpkins up against the wall in particular look fantastic - I love them.

    1. Thanks! Isn't it such a calming color? I bet your home looks beautiful! And you are dead on right. Orange and aqua are marvelous. I only have a few orange things when it is not fall. Right now it is mostly grey, white and aqua in the living room. The bedroom is headed for grey-green territory next.

Thank you! The orange light up pumpkin came from the Dollar General several years ago. Cheap but cute <3

  5. I honestly think you live in my dream house! I love how well your fall decor blends with your everyday beachy/whimsical decor vibe! The pops of fall colors go so well against the aqua walls and I love the cute little touches like the birdies and the fall fish sign. Superb Julie!👌 Thanks for sharing!

    1. Awwww thank you Amanda! That is very kind of you to say. It is a little house but it fits our small family. That fish chalkboard is one of my favorite Marshall's clearance finds. I try to change it up for seasons, birthdays and what not.

  6. I love your decor - it's very close to my style too! Love the monogram and the corner of lights with the sticks! And I love the color of your wood floors too!
The Lemon ginger snap sounds good too - I like that it sounds like the spice and creaminess would keep it from smelling like lemon cleaners

    1. Thank you dear! Sometimes I get side tracked by the current ship lap/subway tile/farm table current craze and then remind myself that I just need to buy things that I enjoy whether they are trendy or not. So I end up with an eclectic mix of things, usually beach inspired. The floors have made such a huge difference in our home. We had carpet for ten years but decided to try laminate and we are so happy we did. It has held up well too for a few years now.

You absolutely right! The cream and spice does tame the lemon. LSC has a yummy lemon curd scent.

  7. Everything looks wonderful Julie! I love how the fall oranges look against your aquatic blue walls. That shot of the front area with the garland and wreaths with the white doors and blue walls - SO gorgeous. It's funny because Pier 1 has a few items that are "coastal fall" themed, where the pumpkins are varying shades of blue and juxtaposed against sea stars and the like. I saw them the other day and was reminded of your style but I think what you've done by adding in those oranges and warm tones looks a thousand times better, much more festive and inviting! I loooooove your corner of lights, you've inspired me to add some more lights to my displays. My fall decor is still a work in progress but it's semi-complete and I'm semi-pleased so far lol. My favorite decorating season <3 PS I love that something from the CLE made the cut into your fall decor!

    1. Thank you, Jacqui! I try to keep it form being too cluttered. I bet those coastal pieces are cute. I will try to pop in there to at least check them out but I agree, the fall colors are part of what helps it feel more festive. Though maybe I will find a few pieces to fit in the bathroom or something. Your home is stunning. I think a garland of twinkle lights on a mantel or plant shelf above your cabinets would look cozy. Or one of those wooden vine and light pumpkins in a corner. I always eye those at Target at the end of a season. Maybe this year I will get one. The little Amish arrangement was a fun new addition. A little piece of Cleveland indeed <3

    2. Yes check out Pier 1! I think the coastal stuff consisted of a couple pillows, a table runner and maybe some faux pumpkin things? I love the idea of a light up vine pumpkin somewhere, great thinking! Our cabinets go to the ceiling so we can't do anything fun there =(

  8. Very nice. And I love how it proves nice looking decor can come from the least expensive sources! I was shocked and disappointed though that the series leader was late with her post. My faith in humanity is shattered..... =P

    1. Thanks! You know I love my Dollar Tree and Target dollar bin finds. I did buy two of those metal stakes that have the acorn and leaves spinners. One owl and one crow. They are by the mail box.

I was totally slacking. Thankfully we can be flexible. But hopefully I can stick more with the schedule after this, but who knows. Life throws curve balls and God laughs at my peon plans.

    1. Thank you Stephanie!! I love lights. And I wil be keeping my eyes peeled for the ones you have displayed. Love yours!

I appreciate that! Sometimes I worry that the aqua is over the top when new people come in but I personally love it. It calms me. Like being under water or a huge sky.
