Better Homes & Gardens: A few fall scents...

The family and I stopped at Walmart the day of Savanna's surgery to pick her up some Pokemon to open to keep her mind off the events to take place later in the day and while we were making the circuitous route around the store I remembered I needed more bulbs for my bathroom warmer. Well... you know what all lies near those warmer bulbs? Wax. Savanna stood there cradling her Pokemon box, Adam shifted his weight from foot to foot while gazing at the jumbo TV screens in electronics and I quickly huffed about a dozen clamshells and stacked the ones I liked in the crook of my arm.

These are the Better Homes & Gardens versions that I chose at $2.00 each.

Warm Tobacco Leaf- An incredible blending of sweet golden tobacco, soft woods and maybe a touch of hay. Two cubes threw strong in my living area and kitchen. I am thrilled to have a second clamshell of this, thanks to a dear friend. It smells like a brilliant fall and winter scent. Repurchase in a heart beat.

Warm Rustic Woods- There was something that kept bugging me about this scent. I liked how it smelled in theory but then it kept reminding me of something... someone. And BAM! It hit me like a locker door in the face... it smelled like an old beau from high school. He wore Joop. So this basically smells like tongue kissing behind a portable between classes, hormones and regret.

Sueded Cinnamon Woods- This one smells pretty much true to its name. The cinnamon is softer though and not too fiery. Blonde woods and vanillic suede feature in the forefront with a touch of smokiness. Once it melted the smokiness became sweet and morphed into something that reminded me a touch too much of smoked meats marinated in brown sugar. I just couldn't quite get past that. Probably not a repurchase.

Fragrant Woodland Walk- Another slightly masculine woods scent but more mahogany and oakmoss rather than designer colognes. Two cubes melted strong and smelled lovely. Repurchase for sure.

Of these I am loving Warm Tobacco leaf and Fragrant Woodland Walk the most. Have you melted any Better Homes & Gardens lately?

  1. LOL about Warm Rustic Woods! And LOL for the meat reference on Sueded Cinnamon Woods too. Remember the infamous meat tart from a couple years ago?!

I love BHG wax, and have several in my fall stash. I'll probably need to grab more here and there throughout the season since I didn't go crazy and grab them all as soon as they came out this time.

    1. YES! I do remember the meat tart now! Maybe they are like BBW and they keep the same scents but just rebrand them... the old meat tart made its way back into the rotation. They like that.

I like quite a few BHG wax tarts too. Thank you for stocking me up for this fall! I am stoked.

    2. I'll have to look back and see what the meat tart was called.

  2. I enjoy all of these scents but agree that Warm Tobacco Leaf is the best of the lot. Glad you found a couple winners!

  3. Jessica sent me a clam of Fragrant Woodland walk last year and I saved some. So fresh and crisp, think I'll melt it this weekend. Some of the others though, ew. No one should get the meat sweats from a wax melt, lol!

    1. I totally agree! It is a ScentSationals scent and it is coming up for review next week. It is freaking awesome! SW FL? My in laws live in Bonita Springs. Their house just flooded with the hurricane :-( lots of damage. I hope you fared well.

    2. Yes, we did ok. We are in Englewood, smack dab between fort Myers and sarasota so we were very lucky. We just got power back yesterday though, and living without a/c in Fl in September is miserable.
