Jenny Oaks is the owner and wax maker at Rosegirls Chunk Wax Melts, based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Rosegirls wax produces a quality product and remains a hot commodity. Rosegirls opens an average of twice a year for custom orders and has now added a couple of openings for samplers as well. Despite being uber busy fulfilling orders at the moment, Jenny was sweet enough to do a mini interview with me.
1. How long have you worked with wax?
About two and a half years.
2. What are your favorite scents?
Lemon blends, Macintosh Apple blends, and Peppermint blends.
3. What is your vision for Rosegirls?
It would be a dream to be able to expand enough in production to allow for a few more boutique retail locations as well as a website that could be open all the time for orders.
4. Describe what you love about the wax community.
There are so many things. The friendships, laughter, camaraderie and relationships are real and we have a way of coming together- no matter what- when it's truly needed.
5.What one thing would you change about the wax community?
The negativity and pettiness. I think sometimes we take ourselves a little too seriously on FB, and need to step back into the real world.
6. What do you love most about your job?
I love talking to and shipping packages to people from all over the US and world.
7. What is the least favorite aspect of your job?
I hate cleaning the supplies in between the pours. :-)
8. Describe Wisconsin in 5 words.
Cold, Peaceful, Party, Cozy, Pretty
9. Bar soap or shower gel?
Shower gel!
10. Do you have a favorite perfume or signature scent?
I actually don't use perfume very much anymore. I hear every single day that I smell like candles/cookies- I just roll with that.
11. Is there anything you fan girl over?
I LOVE my Green Bay Packers. Best part of the winter here in the Frozen Tundra are Sundays- watching football with family and friends!Currently, Jenny is working on custom orders from the June 21st opening. She recently wrapped up sampler orders from April. She announced yesterday in her Facebook group page that Saturday, October 18th at 11am CST, the site will open for sampler orders. There will be two options: a 3 pound assorted scent sampler or a 5 pound sampler. Only one per person. This will be 2014's last site opening. Her boutique store is open for local shopping in Oshkosh. To stay up to date on Rosegirls happenings, I recommend joining the Rosegirls Facebook group. Thank you for stopping by!

DeleteVery cool that she did this for you, love her answers! Agreed on both her likes and dislikes of our little wax community. I, too, hope her vision comes true as she has some of the finest wax products in all the land. <3
ReplyDeleteDoesn't she?! I just can't pass up an offer on RG. I am enjoying how sweet and generous our wax vendors are.
