My fall decor sorely needed some sprucing up outside. It was too early for Jack 'O Lanterns (as Florida quickly turns them into a puddle of mold after about 3 days) but I have seen mums popping up everywhere. My recent trip to Lowe's to pick up new blinds for our windows also graced me with an opportunity to buy lots of mums.

It seems almost impossible that there is only one week of October left. It is scary exciting. Thanksgiving plans, holidays, Christmas events are all right around the corner. Any fun plans this weekend?

  1. There were several bags of Cider Lane, Sweet Pumpkin Pie, Marshmallow Smoothie when I was at the store the other day. I almost grabbed another bag for myself but couldn't remember if it was strong, if I liked it, etc..

Love your flowers. I love mums. We didn't even bother this year. =(

I can't believe it either, that October is ending. I'm hoping for some relaxing holidays this year. I've been go go go for so long now that I just want to sit home with hubby and the boys and chill for the holidays.

    1. The cider lane blend was pretty strong for me. But I do have a cider lane muffin blend in Muffin Club. That should tide me over.

I love mums. I usually kill them off from lack of water by Thanksgiving but I will try not to this year.

A calm, peaceful, non rushed holiday season would be ideal. But with so many families it hardly ever turns out that way. But Christmas Eve and Day is always at home. No going out. You deserve some relaxing and I hope you get it! <3

  2. I had my quilting intro class today. Our project was a checkerboard top, which kept things basic and was good for gaining confidence. We didn't go over the finishing steps with the batting, borders and backing, though, that's the next class. After a few hours I'm ready to do something more visually interesting now. I'll put a sewing machine on my Christmas wish list. Hope you had a good weekend!

    1. Awesome, Jean!! I would love to see the result! I am working in a huge checkerboard quilt too but it is more random fabrics than a checkerboard pattern per se. There are a lot if free quilting patterns and tutorials on the internet. I live that you are quilting.
