Between gifts from Ashley, trips to Lush in Aeon Mall, Harajuku, and Shibuya Crossing, here is my Japanese Lush haul. Not all of these are Japan exclusive, but some are.
Soaps in May Pole and Ice Blue Soap. May Pole it appears has been an Oxford Street exclusive, but since it was in Japan at a couple of the stores, I am not sure of its exclusivity status. It smells like sweet candy canes with a hint of vanilla musk. I wanted to eat the whole huge pole when I laid my nose on it. I will probably regret not getting more than 200 grams but it is what it is. Ice Blue is an oldie but a goody. Sharp mint and a touch of ozone.
Dark Angels is nothing new but I really need a strong charcoal face fix for my acne. I really am kicking myself for not sticking to the Innisfree while it was working.
And hence the Tea Tree Water face spray. Ashley mentioned her hubs liked this so I decided it couldn't hurt. Tea tree generally gets love for fighting bacteria that causes acne. My breakout was so bad that the sweet lady behind the counter picked up Enzymion and pointed to her face then me and put it in the bag. I am 99% sure Enzymion is great for acne and I have never even heard of it. But it was super sweet and I will lather it on and think of her.
A perfume solid in The Olive Branch, but translated as Mediterranean Vacation, holds acclaim as being a Japanese exclusive according to the ladies that worked there. Honey I Washed the Kids was offered too but I am not much of a fan of that fragrance. I do wish Lush would bring back the solids in stick form.
Ashley gifted me the Hanami Scrub and the Sakura Bath Bomb when I arrived. She picked these up when they released in the Spring and saved them for me <3 The Hanami Scrub boasts a strong white floral scent, almost like ripe jasmine petals and a touch of seaweed. I can't wait to use it! Sakura leans white floral too but more light with SweetTarts and musk involved.
Yoga Bomb was touted as a Harajuku exclusive in their Lush catalog but I am not sure if that is accurate, because it has been an Oxford Street exclusive too. The scent confounds me too. It houses olibanum oil, ho wood oil and sandalwood oil. The woods are sweet and almost fruity and dare I say animalic? Almost leathery and fishy in the back note. I am thinking it will smell better in the water. Either way I am stoked to have it and try it. Adventure awaits!
So those are the Lush goodies I brought back home. I am sure Lush is probably the last place most people would go while in Japan, but it is a love that Ashley and I both share so it made sense to us :-) Would you go to a Lush on a trip like that? Have you stopped at a Lush in other countries to check out the goodies? I can't wait to visit Oxford Street Lush one day. One. Day.
Ashley is such a sweetheart for saving you goodies from SPRING! What a great haul, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too right. Very sweet of her to think of me and pick them up. She started my whole Lush obsession. Thank you for reading! I hope you are having a great week! And congrats on the new job!
DeleteGreat haul! I'm sad to say I've only tried a few samples of Lush soaps that a friend sent me. I don't have a tub or I'd totally get some bath bombs. Plus I don't live near a store and they're so $$ anyway. Enjoy your goodies!
ReplyDeleteThey are crazy pricy. :-/ But as a splurge once in a while i quite enjoy them. You should check them out online the day after Christmas! A lot of products are buy one get one free. It is my favorite time to shop Lush. Half off ;-) I hope you have a great week Amanda!
DeleteI love my Yoga Bomb! Excellent haul girlie! I need some of that Maypole soap asap! I better get on that.
ReplyDeleteWhat does your yoga bomb smell like?? I am not sure if it just smells strange to me or not. Not bad, but different. Maypole is bliss. Pure bliss! But I am a mint freak. I want mint in all the things. And cats. Cats and mint.
DeleteIt smells like a woodsy floral with a spicy citrus undertone. It's really different! I think it's Lush's attempt at an "Oriental" fragrance.
DeleteHi Julie, I chanced upon your blog today! I just visited Tokyo 2 weeks ago and we had 2 things in common! Splurging on Le Labo Gaiac 10 and buying Lush from Lush Japan stores! Love your blog ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome!!! Thank you for commenting! It is nice to meet you. Ooooooo a Japan trip! I had such a great time there. So much beauty. I miss it. Glad to hear I am not the only frag fanatic who made a point of going to Lush and Le Labo while in Tokyo! <3 Wasn't the Le Labo in the cutest little neighborhood? And the store was elegant and beautiful. I love spraying in Gaiac 10 to take me back. My new travel habit, but a fragrance to capture the moment.
DeleteThank you so much! Hope to chat with you again! Have a great week.
Oops! Spraying *on* and *buy* a fragrance, finger typing is not my forte!
