This is my last week of summer. School and work commences very shortly and once that does, the holidays come steam rolling down the pike. The holidays are always a joyous and exciting time with the girls. They still believe in all the magic, though I know that time is quickly coming to a pass. Anyway, before all that comes, back -to-school first. Which means it is time for the Mermaid's second annual Back-To-School Giveaway! I will be announcing the giveaway officially on the 24th, on the girls' first day of school. In the meantime, back to my last days laying in pools of sunlight, napping and reading books. Much like this gal. Without the reading books part. (By the way- deeply into The Heroes of Olympus and on Book 4).

What are you reading? Does back-to-school affect your life at all?

  1. I am also reading book four of Heroes of Olympus, and should be doing that right now instead of commenting on blogs. lol

No more back-to-school excitement around here. I miss that. Well, I think I'm glad it's over more than I miss it, but hey, I still miss it. =)

    1. I hope you cracked that book open today! We need to discuss!!!

It can be chaotic: school clothes, lunch boxes, morning rushing, and on and on but a new school year always brings new friends, new discoveries, new memories.

  3. Back to school giveaway? I'm there! Beautiful kitty, by the way! I just finished up Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid series and now I think I might move on to All the Light That We Cannot See or the Sixth Extinction. Not sure yet! I miss school - finished my Master's in 2010 and I want to go back so badly!

    1. Yay!!! The more the merrier! I will have to look into these titles! I have The Red Tent and Jurassic Park (re-read) on deck but after that I am wide open! I finished my Master's in 2007 and missed school when I became a Stay At Home Momfor a few years but this is my third year back in a classroom and it is nice to have that routine of school back in my life. Hoping it will be a positive and joy filled school year.
