Yankee Candle: Spiced Pumpkin

My Mom gifted all my sisters a Yankee candle recently and she picked this fella out for me. My Mom has great taste in candles. In fact, she is where I developed my intense love for all things home fragrance.

I had heard rumblings of a creamy wax formula coming out from Yankee candle and that it did not preform well. This candle looked like the same old oily mottled wax formula I have known for decades but maybe I am still out of the loop. It took several hours for even this tiny pool of wax to develop; it threw moderately the whole time. It will not work as a big room candle, as it is a tad soft but it is a nice one for a bedroom or smaller area. It actually smelled like a fresh carved pumpkin that has been heated by the flickering flame of the candle inside that transforms it into a Jack-O-Lantern. Add some cinnamon and this is that scent.

  1. Yummy. I wonder how it would be in votives. We didn't get any Yankee votives for this fall. I got all those other tarts and candles without considering Yankee.

I always shy away from those big jar candles. My mind always tells me the narrower opening holds back the scent, and when the candle gets lower the tall jar traps the scent. lol - Probably mental, I know.

    1. I wonder too. I tend to gravitate towards their tealights more than anything else for some reason. But hey! I will gratefully accept ANY size if it is gifted!

I can totally see what you mean. Especially as it gets low. I also keep forgetting to check out the Yankee outlet when I am in Orlando.

  2. It's not fall for me without a trip to Yankee Candle! This is one of my favorite Yankee fall scents ever, but it just doesn't throw strongly enough for me anymore. I've found that Dessa's Sweet Pumpkin Spice is actually a pretty decent dupe for this (although it's not marketed as such). It threw wonderfully too!

    1. Oh, and the 2-wick tumblers are the ones from the classic line of scents that switched to soy blend. The single wicks are still the mottled paraffin, thank goodness!

    2. Oh how cool!! I will have to get it in those ding dang adorable Mason jars! I am melting a Dessa's right at this moment! Thanks for the info. I am woefully behind in the Yankee goings ons. They still have quite a few scents I adore though. Cranberry Chutney was my first true love for Christmas! <3

Have you been burning any new candles in your newly renovated home?!?!
