Leaves

Whelp. Being located in the heart of the Sunshine State does not allow for the typical temperate climate change that initiates abscission in deciduous trees. However, I do know where to find the odd colorful leaf.

No, it is not here among the feathered leaves of my Rabbit Foot fern but I am so happy it is alive and thriving that I wanted to share.

Here! This Camphor tree, even though it is technically an evergreen, always gifts me with the beautiful random red leaf. He lives in the woods behind my house and is beautiful.

When I am craving fall hues I can always pluck them from my garden too.

I burned through my Bath & Body Works Leaves candle and even began melting some of my Candles From the Keeping Room Leaves tarts (that just happen to come in a leaf shape).

Some of my favorite "leaf" centric perfumes include: Solstice Scents Foxcroft, Sixteen92 Salem and Arcana's Leaves Falling Like Rain.

I think that is the extent of my leafiness as of late. Do you get to see pretty fall foliage where you live? If not, how do you get in your colorful leaf desires?

  1. Definitely lots of gorgeous fall foliage in WI. I've noticed it's booming for a good 2 or so weeks and if you don't pay attention when the leaves start changing colors, before you know it, the leaves have fallen and the trees are barren.
It's nice to do some country, scenic drives on the weekend to gawk at the beauty of nature.
Hey, have you peeked at Carol's website for the next CFTKR restock?? Dang, am I drooling at plenty!! I think I spied Pumpkin Lager on the list. Is that the one you love she hasn't poured in awhile or am I mistaken?? Either way, I cannot miss that opening. :D

    1. Oh man. I would love to see photos. It is kinda sad it is so short. Makes it hard to plan to come see it one day. I always dream of driving the Blue Ridge Parkway during fall and seeing the colors.

Ummmmmmm, APril. What did you DO TO ME!!!! But THANK YOU!!!!! I did pop over and made a list about $300 long. Carol even has separate categories for pumpkins and strawberries!! And Pumpkin Lager? I will be shooting for two of those. Thank you again for the heads up. I know Carol had a hard time last opening so I am hoping ti goes much smoother for her this time. I can't imagine how frustrating that can be.

I AM SO EXCITED!! What you are jonesing for?

    2. I kinda think catching the changing of leaves is like trying to catch cherry blossoms when they're in bloom.. you gotta time it just right. I dunno, maybe other places have pretty foliage longer?? Just seems very short lived and I wish the beautiful leaves would stay much longer.
I haven't made any official wishlist for the next CFTKR opening yet. I just browsed all the categories and was dying. lol
I talked myself out of ordering last opening and I'm glad I did, cuz of that snafu that ended up happening on Carol's site. I was on the road, so it would've been tough to time out. Anyway, I'm glad she was able to work it out and open for orders. An opening is enough hard work, without any issues. Here's hoping the next is smooth sailing for all!!

    3. Ah! Cherry blossoms! You are right. I am going to DC this March for a teacher conference and now I am wondering... I need to look up when cherry blossoms bloom.

I didn't order last time either and after I saw how crazy it was I am happy I didn't throw my hat into the ring. But Pumpkin Lager has me ready to duke it out. <3

  2. I would love to see cherry blossoms in bloom some day. If you're able to catch that, it would be a real treat!
My sister has gotten to see them in Japan. I'm so envious, but glad she shared her photos with me. So lovely!

    1. I heard they were intensely beautiful in Japan as well. My friend lived there for a couple years and would send me photos. I didn't make it during that season but it is still a beautiful country.
