Miss:
My will power. Oops. I had some goals that I wanted to get started on but they fled along with the last dregs of summer. But I am not going to beat myself up about it. I will simply start fresh with the new month. I have some health goals I want to set in motion and I want to limit my purchases to some new flats for work, three small perfumes, no wax and no coffee mugs for the next month. I want to focus on holiday gifts and saving some funds for the next 30 days. I also want to make more time to quilt so my sister may actually get her wedding quilt by Christmas.

Low:
Being sick. Currently working on mending an upper respiratory and ear infection.

High:
Spending time with NaLonda and Ashley, Stephanie and Giffe. Catching up with some friends has been good for my heart. I was feeling lonely for a little bit there. I also enjoyed being outside more with the weather cooling. Things are nice and calm right now.

How has your October been? How do you prep yourself for the coming months? What do you do to make sure you find peace and calm in the impending whirlwind?

Any highs? Lows? Yummy smells or great reads? Please share how your month has gone.

Happy Halloween!

  1. I hope you are feeling better soon! I have a cold this week and it's such a drag. I realized that I haven't been sick in a couple of years, and it's so exhausting. Hugs to you!

    1. Thank you, Nancy! I am finally feeling more myself today and over the weekend. The antibiotics have been helping. I watched your Freddie Mercury lecture and loved it. Thank you for sharing it. <3

I love that you haven't been sick in years. That is awesome!!! I think perhaps I would be less sick if I wasn't teaching smaller kiddos. All the germs are just everywhere.

  2. Your list sounds lovely, aside from the miss, low and dreading parts. I love getting a rundown of your month- what a great way to reflect!
Have you been able to try Future Prim's shampoo bars at all or not interested?

    1. Thanks! Gotta take the sour with the sweet sometimes. <3 It is nice to recap and reflect just like you say. It helps me as a touch point for my mental health and well-being. See if I am a low cycle or see the results of how I feel when I make healthier choices.

I did want to try Tiggy's shampoo bars but she didn't make any in the Halloween scents so I went ahead and got my usual 3 in 1. But maybe if she makes them in holiday scents or even does a general restock in them I will eventually try them. I think they would be good. I just got my Halloween scents in the 3 in 1 and Hair Rinse in the mail. I picked up Shadow Show and The Gloaming. Both will be really nice for winter. <3 Have you picked anything up from Tiggy lately?

    2. I still have yet to order from Tiggy! I've stayed up on your Future Prim posts and I've been following her on IG and Facebook for awhile now. I'll definitely order sometime- everything always sounds so wonderful and everything is all so gorgeous and pretty. Tiggy is such a hoot, I love her personality.

  3. Heck yes, those germy little peeps are the worst this time of year. Definitely enjoying working in a small village library with one other employee, rarely get hit with the sickness. Happy to hear you are healing, I used to get ear infections more often, they really put a pall on everything else going on.
Ooo, just reading Beetlejuice soundtrack got the music playing in my head. Did you see the Musical is coming to Broadway? I'm dying to see it.

    1. Hahahahaaaa!!! SO MUCH PATHOGENS!!!! Seriously. Guess what is going around our school right now??? CHICKEN POX! I mean, I have been working in the school system since 2003 and have not heard of a Chicken Pox outbreak ever. And here we are. Kids covered in them. They have not been vaccinated so I guess it was natural to happen. So crazy.

Yes. Ear infections and I have been inseparable as of late and it does not make me a happy camper. Thankfully this latest one has passed for now. Have you still been getting them or have they passed?

Beetlejuice musical?!?!?! I had no idea. That would be epic. Maybe I can plan another NYC trip in the next couple years. Right now my sister and I are planning a trip to the Berkshires with my daughters for a coming of age trip. We plan on doing a solstice festival there and then making our way to Salem and other places of interest in Massachusetts.
