The girls and I went hiking with my sister last week and it was crazy beautiful.

Getting out and about, crossing some fun things off the summer bucket list, and sticking on the path to better health have all been making for a happy June so far.

Sure we might be covered in mosquito bites, I might give the 1,000 yard stare to a milkshake or two and maybe I have not done all the things I wanted to yet, but looking on the bright side is way more pleasurable.

The yoga hostel I mentioned in my summer bucket list sold out of space but I did manage to grab a hotel room on Clearwater Beach instead.

The afternoon thunderstorms have been hampering the beach and springs trips, but make for cozy snuggly book reading and tea drinking time.

I am on day 8 of the Whole30 and think I waited until the right time to do it. The proteins, fruits and veggies are filling me up and I am not craving too much. Once in a while I will dip into some dried fruit but that is it as of right now. I am still counting calories as I don't quite trust myself to stay within a reasonable amount right now. I want to start strong and then ease up as I get used to portion sizes and what not right now.

I think this week we will try to hit up Lithia Springs, visit some grandparents and maybe have the girls cook dinner.

What are you up to? Any struggles with silver linings? Proud of any recent accomplishments? Please share!

    1. Hello! Welcome! We go to SW Florida quite frequently to visit my in-laws in Bonita Springs. There is a cute little Everglades garden/park/attraction I keep wanting to take them too there.

This park is Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring, Florida. It was about an hour drive from where we live in central FL and is an hour and 45 minutes if you are coming from Fort Myers up to Sebring. I feel like it is well worth the trip because it is simply stunning. It is a 4,000 acre park with several trails that are only about 20-40 minutes long each and it highlights one of the few Hammock habitats around the state. You can camp there too.

Let me know if you decide to go and what you thought about it! And if you have any hidden Florida park gems, please let me know, as I am always looking for new natural adventures to take to the girls on. <3

    2. Thanks! We usually do more botanical gardens vs parks, but this looks gorgeous. We love Bok Tower in Lake Wales and Selby Gardens in Sarasota.

I still am in awe of the sample that you shared with me of Bliss.. it was crazy crazy good. It melted phenomenally and I wish I could get my hands on more!

    1. There are so many state parks around Florida that I have not yet visited that I am trying to take the girls here and there to go on adventures exploring them.

Bliss is so good!! I love how creamy and sweet it is. I have such a soft spot for a nice rich vanilla. <3
