Bath & Body Works: Comfort Candle

Bath and Body Works Comfort candle hung out with us while we visited North Carolina this past weekend. It turns out the cabin has a gas fireplace, so Comfort provided a little more authenticity to our faux fireplace. Comfort threw pretty dang strong, it pooled deep and even and touted stout wicks. The scent of a comforting fireside experience was achieved through a slightly smokey birch, tar and woody notes. I would repurchase for sure. How do you feel about "fireside" type scents? Too smokey? Just cozy? Are you burning candles this winter?

  1. We've really slowed down on our candle burning now that Christmas is long gone. I want to say I'm not a fan of smoky notes but maybe it's just been the few I've come across so far. I do tend to shy away from them though.

You mention tar in this. I was like 'What the...?' because my first thought was of hot blacktop on a sunny summer day. lol

    1. Well don't pick this one as your first fire one... It is crazy strong. Maybe Marshmalliw Fireside would be a good start. A hearty dose of vanilla to tone down the fire.

Lol! Well maybe a bit tar road... But I was thinking more birch tar. :-) But maybe you could use a summer day right about now.

  2. I used to not like Fireside scents but this year it really appealed to me (big surprise, my scent preferences did a 180 this year lol). I didn't enjoy it quite as much as a I thought I would when it was burning but I still liked it a lot. It was just a bit heavy, and I had to blow it out after a few hours. Still will burn it down to the end and perhaps rebuy again next year!

    1. You are right, it was pretty intense. We had the doors open to let in cold air while having the fireplace on and it was perfect but if the doors were closed with a heater on it would have been a bit much. I think I am going to try and use mine up this month.

  3. I wouldn't really know about whether I like fireside type candles or not. We haven't melted or burned anything close to that scent type. Based off of my complete scent expansion over the past year I'd say most likely? Depending on how authentic that smokey note is.

    1. It is pretty good. Marshmallow Fireside is still my fave smokey candle scent. So creamy and mellow <3 I love how our tastes change as the years go by. Do you have any candles with you? Do they sell candles over there like they do here?

  4. I love Fireside! Ski Lodge is another great candle. I would like to find some wax that compares. I am a homebody even though my busy life is getting in the way. Ellisa

    1. Ellisa, it's funny you mention Ski Lodge! I got it as a Christmas gift and love it on cold! I am hesitant to burn it in case I fall madly in love lol! I bet Ski Lodge dupes are out there. And some vendors will take oil requests!

  5. Fireside is strictly for hardcore smokey fans; it is STRONG. Ski Lodge is definitely lighter and a great, cozy fragrance. I've gone through three of them this winter and wish I had more!! Julie, you have been warned!!
