This perfume was a gift from a sweet friend and I must say, I have not fallen for a mainstream perfume like this since probably Vince Camuto a few years back. SJP Stash is smoking hot. Sarah Jessica Parker churns out some lovely fragrances, not the usual celebrity dreck, since she actually enjoys and appreciates fine fragrance rather than just slapping her name on any weak fruity floral chemical blend some big wigs fling out to make money. This is a fine example of her finesse.
Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker- Notes: Grapefruit zest, black pepper, sage, Atlas cedarwood, patchouli, ginger lily, pistachio, olibanum, Massoia wood, vetiver and musk.
Winding down from an evening of dining and dancing, pushing heels off with the toes of the other foot and surrendering to the sanguine duvet in the moody moonlit room. An inhale of the pillow whispers of the herbaceous and citrusy bergamot and pepper of his cologne from this morning. A sweet cedarwood candle chatters and gutters at the nightstand where a scant half inch of aged bourbon reflects in the firelight through the sturdy cut crystal tumbler. Damn, left the candle lit again. The creak of the bedroom door and the wafting in of smooth smoky leather and tobacco from the evening's revelries announces his approach. His own musk adds to the heady brew. He blows out the sputtering candle and the stars shine that much brighter.
This is one sultry scent that manages to twist all the notes around into accords of their own. The Massoia wood smells like a cross of palo santo and sandalwood, the vetiver is hugely deep, softly smoky and almost tobacco-ish. A complex and seductive fragrance that I will be hunting down larger sizes of in the very near future. It can be found just about anywhere such as Sephora, Ulta and more.
Are you crushing on any new mainstream perfumes?
Hi Julie - I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I must say that I like to over spray Stash- it wears like a cloud of warmth on me. Ellisa
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! And you knew I would. I think we like similar scents. I am looking forward to getting started on the Aerin perfumes. And a cloud of warmth describes this scent perfectly. It is such a snuggly sexy scent. I am enamored.
DeleteI always sniff this in stores and love the notes. Also, the exact images you described in detail are conjured up every time I sniff. Yep the pillow, the firelight, the guttering, the bourbon and revelry, you nailed it.
ReplyDeleteJust teasing! I've read novels with less convincing & breathtakingly written imagery than your scenario, SJP would do well to use it in an advert. I'd buy it;)
LOL! Thank you! Anytime I wear it I feel a bit naughty so that scenario panned out in my mind a little too easily. This is just such a stunning scent. I can see myself even getting the matching lotions and such with it too and I don't normally do that. I hope Sephora's triple points for fragrance comes back around soon so I can pick it up.
DeleteOooooh, I love this perfume. It's the first mainstream perfume I've worn that reminded me of indie perfumes. It has so much depth to it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it dreamy?!?! You have good taste ;-D It really does have nice depth and warmth to it. I really fell hard for this one. I am looking forward to getting a bottle of it.
DeleteWell, I can't speak to her perfume-crafting abilities (although it sounds like she's doing all right for herself) I do know that I just adore SJP - she seems like a very real person living a completely un-real life. Plus, nobody can run in a pair of stiletto mules like that woman!
ReplyDeleteCelebrity fragrances are kind of the worst, though. They're either very well done or those Jessica Simpson fragrances from about 10 years ago that all went discoloured and smelled like rancid cupcakes.
She does manage to keep her air of mystery and a modicum of privacy.
DeleteThey really can be quite awful. I don't think I even had the misfortune to sniff any of Simpson's perfumes. Sounds like a dodged a bullet there. Though I must say I always loved the high heels she rolled out.
