Solstice Scents: Spiced Cranberry & Spruce Bath Salts

Solstice Scents recently restocked and there were two bath salts: Spiced Cranberry & Spruce and a Lemon Ginger scent. I sprang for the cranberry one for a festive holiday bath. I just adore the packaging. Everything is nicely wrapped and padded with tissue and garnished with bits of odds and ends.

Spiced Cranberry & Spruce houses a tart cranberry aroma in the jar, but when poured into the bath tub it really unfolds into multiple layers of lightly spiced cranberry compote and rejuvenating evergreen boughs. I went a tad overboard and poured a little over a 1/3 of the jar's contents into the tub but it was well worth it. The soothing salts relaxed my mind and body while the oils pampered my skin. I rose from the tub in quite the jolly spirit.

Free Sample of perfume oil in Lavender Vanilla, this lil beaut may just change my mind about perfume oils. I have yet to really find one that I can enjoy. I usually get an undertone and the scent is always fleeting on my skin. Even though this one is ephemeral on me as well, it is so sweet and relaxing that I can see using this as my bedtime fragrance. The lavender in this is fluid and sweet. There are no herbal or detergent traces to this lavender. It is all sweet vanilla smoothed purple lavender. Perfection!

Do you have any bath and body holiday fragrances you have enjoyed or would like to try? Please share!

On a side note, I am reading Maggie Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races and loving it. My book buddy Tricia gifted me a signed copy for my birthday and I have been trying to savor the story by reading it at a slower pace. The synopsis so far involves a young lady who finds herself unexpectedly participating in her small coastal England island's annual water horse races. I enjoy the imagery and fascinating idea of horses leaping wild and briny from the arctic sea water, snapping their teeth and moving like mercury. I am about halfway through and will be enjoying more in my Spiced Cranberry & Spruce bath tonight. Reading anything?

  1. That packaging is the cutest!! And I'm excited to try the solstice scent you gifted me! Hubby was sniffing everything in my box & he approved of that one..lol

I just tried some free books off my kindle app.. Sadly both were underwhelming... The first was a mermaid book called Everblue. It had potential from the start, but the main characters lacked depth and maturity. The second was Panic by KR Griffiths. Great concept...terrible execution. Government created zombie virus which spread rapidly... But the writing was poor and the storyline too jumpy. I can't leave a book unfinished, so I muddled through. I think I shall return to Craigh na Dunn for awhile. :)

    1. I love that Daniel has an adventurous nose!! I will need to send you some more goodies to try in the new year.

Sorry your books did not satisfy. I hate wading through uninteresting muck. Dragonfly in Amber is patiently waiting for me to reread after these next couple of books. I love returning to Craigh na Dunn.

    1. Thank you so much Tricia! It is great!

They still have the lemon ginger cream cookie looking bath salts up. I did not realize how much I would enjoy a quality bath salt. I have had such duds in the past.

    2. Angela makes 'em nice and strong. I've tried the perfume, salts and body spray and they've all had good throw, more in line with the alcohol-based products. It looks like someone bought the rest of the salts but there's a jar on ebay if you're an ebay person :) I've purchased from her before.

  3. Gorgeous packaging! Bath salts have always seemed interesting, do they work like bubble bath or are they more for relaxation? Or just like an epsom salt? Glad you liked the freebie, too! :)

    1. No bubbles, more about relaxing and soothing the skin and muscles and mind for myself, personally. Are you a bath taker LoLo? I know it grosses some folks out :-)

    1. Thanks! I loved that this order came with its own props too! Made it festive and rustic. Rusted jingle bells?! Who'da thought?! But I love them!!! The bath salts are pretty stellar in their own right too. Hope you have a jolly day sweet Deb!

    2. Is it real rust or faux rust? In the last picture it looks like a lovely combo of copper and burgundy, prettier than a natural rust. And the cuttings look real too. Thinking I need to order now to see them in person, lol.

    3. Real :-) the jingle is muted a bit and it is rusted inside too. At least I can't scratch it off with my fingernails. The cuttings are definitely real. I agree. You should order! Lol <3
